I love it when people find humor in what would typically be considered a traumatic event. This article in today's Seattle PI made me chuckle a few times over.

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2003038462_bearmauling040.html

My favorite part:

After hearing the bear disappear into the woods, Mungoven said, he called after his dogs several times.

"They were at the road, waiting for me to come out of the woods," he said. "They were just sitting there like, 'OK, when you're done playing with the bear, we'll be right here waiting for you.'"

People who eat sushi with their hands should be dragged into the middle of the street and shot.
The End.

Today was Rally Monday, celebrating the New York Yankees' season-ending success (they won the American League East).

My favorite fan quote:

"It was interesting," said self-proclaimed die-hard Yankee fan John McInnes. "I didn't think they were going to win the East at all until the last two weeks, when they won 15 of 20 or something ridiculous. And the Red Sox totally choked, which was awesome."

Am I the only one who thinks that the Yankees and Red Sox will be facing each other for the American League crown again this year?

Random entry of the week:

If you've ever wondered why women love Jesus, it's because he's well hung.
Ha ha, get it?

In her latest LJ entry, meeechy boasts:

> procrasination (ooh, look, theadroitone, i finally spelled it right!)

WRONG!

Day-um. If I had a nickel for each time you've tried to spell procrastination correctly, but failed miserably in doing so, Bill Gates would be asking me for financial advice.

Please allow me to direct you to what should be considered man's most valuable spelling tool.

Dear friends of great acumen, erudition and hopefully creativity (if you don't know what those words mean, you can stop here),

I am in the process of finishing up another technical article. I've been asked to supply some text that would qualify as a brief, creative and incisive chronicle of the quintessential daily endeavor.

If you have gotten this far, and you've got time on your hands (which i know you do because you're reading this entry), give me something better than, "Chris Sano is a Software Design Engineer during the day and a heroic, crime-stopping superhero under the moon."

Other than that, I know you guys have been itching for an update. I'm off to Ocean City, MD for a much needed week-long vacation, and will provide a comprehensive narrative of what has happened in my life over the past few months (and a lot has happened, including a new job) upon my return. Maybe I'll even post a picture or two.

yesterday, i was dragged to the local t-mobile store, screaming, kicking, and clenching my wallet. during a brief struggle, i was knocked unconscious and when i came about, a sidekick 2 was in my hands. to each and every one of you who has commented one way or the other over the years that i needed to be more accessible, damn you. i'm going to have to pinch pennies for the next few months to make up for the mark that this has left (and will continue to leave) on my monthly budget.

Jesus guided the hungering crowd to a bucket, and said unto them, "Piss." Then he ladled into the bucket, and sipped, exclaiming, "Behold, your God, a mighty God, has turned this piss into soup!"11 Peter appeared with crackers, and there was rejoicing.12

The headline to this article reads "King County sheriff's office investigating possible animal abuse," but should really be, "Man dies after getting anally raped by a horse."

A while ago, Microsoft held its annual hockey challenge. A bunch of us got together and raised nearly $500,000 for the Ronald McDonald house here in Seattle. I even got captdeaf (who hates Microsoft with every fiber of his being and probably more) to donate $20 (You're a fucking cheap bastard, Milam :D).

Picture of Sano in actionCollapse )

I bet you can't tell that I dislocated my left elbow only three days prior to that game.

Mood: contemplative

I've spent quite a bit of time recently working on the interface for my new web site. While it's only about 60% complete, I figured now was as good of a time as any to ask for constructive criticism.

web interfaceCollapse )

My next area of focus will be coming up with something to encapsulate the content. I don't think it looks quite right, but maybe that's because it's late and I've spent too many hours staring at it. Blah.
